This fortnight our theme is...

'Through the Key Hole' 

  Phonics and Spelling 


Reception/Year 1 complete one phonics session per day.

Year 2  - 20 mins of spelling practice per day.



Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, read at least a few pages every day and discuss the text.

Year 1 and 2 complete a reading comprehension activity three times a week.



Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 there are 10 short writing activities on The Paper Dolls PowerPoint to complete over the next two weeks.  We  recommend completing one each day - approx 30 mins.



Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 complete one  maths activities each day - 30 mins.

Make sure you read at least a few pages every day.

Reception -  read a book or a couple of pages of a book to your child every day (click here for a library of books) and ask them questions about the book as you go.  Click here for ideas of questions you could ask.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 we are going to spend the next two weeks writing about the adventures you could go on if you traveled through a magic door.

For a bit of fun, try out these Practical Maths Activities



Healthy Minds and Bodies

Suggestion: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2  take part in some form of exercise each day.  

Science/Creative ideas  - Theme – Geography, the world and adventures

Suggestion: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 choose a selection of activities to complete over the next two weeks.  

  • Ask a grown up to set up a quiet place with you and light a candle. Sit together quietly and take a couple of minutes to reflect on the good things that you have done this week.
  • Take part in a Joe Wicks PE lesson. These go live at 9am Monday – Friday, but can be accessed at any other time on You tube. 
  • You could also do some Cosmic Kids yoga.
  • Use a skipping rope or pogo stick – how many skips/jumps can you do?

We have planned a range of creative and scientific activities to support your child's understanding of travel, geography and the world through a range of curriculum subjects.
