Welcome to Picasso Class (Year 3)
Miss Su Calvert supported by Mrs Brabner and Mrs Davis
Our weekly timetable can be found here. This will give you an idea of what the children are up to each day. Please be aware that this timetable is flexible. Please note that on a Wednesday afternoon the class will be taught by Mrs Davda.
Picasso class updates
From now on updates will be posted on Seesaw. Please log in to read the messages.
Below you will find the homework for Picasso class. Homework will be added on a Friday and should be completed by Wednesday. Homework can be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org
At times, homework will be split into more than one task (mild, spicy and hot). Your child can choose their level of challenge and complete that section only. Answers can be recorded on any paper if a printer is not available and a photo taken. Discussion questions can be done purely verbally or recorded using audio or video if you choose.
FROM MONDAY 19th OCTOBER HOMEWORK WILL BE POSTED ON SEESAW.
Picasso weekly spellings
Spelling lists will be published here each Monday. We will have an informal test on a Friday in school. Here are some ideas for different ways to work on spellings at home.
FROM MONDAY 19th OCTOBER SPELLINGS WILL BE POSTED ON SEESAW.
Reading at home is an essential part of learning. It helps us increase in fluency and understanding and develop a love of books. In school we read regularly through whole class reading, small groups and one to one. We enjoy story time on a daily basis. Our focus in Year 3 is on comprehension.
Please ensure that you are reading at home on a regular basis (and being read to). At this point we are unable to send home books from school but there is a wealth of reading material available online. You could start at www.oxfordowl.co.uk/ click on 'My Class Login' and use the username and password BlewburyPicasso. If children would like to email in any reviews or opinions of the books they have read I will be more than happy to look at them and give them some feedback.
In Picasso class we want to create an environment which is happy, safe and great for learning. In our first few days at school this year we worked on what this means and how we can do it. We discussed the importance of being a team. The contract below shows the ideas which were agreed on. Please review with your child at home.
Below you will find an outline of our topic for this term. Our inquiry question is Is success the same for everybody?
